Patti LuPone is no stranger to controversy. This time, she’s decided to go head-to-head with a famous Kardashian who was previously cast in the upcoming season of American Horror Story

While visiting Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, LuPone participated in a rapid-fire game called “Do! They! Give! A! Damn!” alongside John Leguizamo

Andy Cohen asked the acclaimed actor if she gave a damn about Kim Kardashian being cast in Season 12 of Ryan Murphy’s hit anthology series.

“Yes, I do!” LuPone said while gritting her teeth.

The talk show host asked, “You don’t like it, do you?”

The stage and screen actor replied, “No, I don’t,” and accused Kardashian of taking a role that could’ve gone to an actor. She said, “Excuse me, excuse me, Kim. What are you doing with your life?”

Then, LuPone referenced Noel Coward’s 1935 song which criticized stage-mother behavior, saying, “Don’t get on the stage, Mrs. Worthington.”

When Leguizamo was asked for his opinion, he agreed with LuPone. “Whatever she said, I double the emotion,” he joked.

LuPone previously starred in two seasons of American Horror Story, American Horror Story: Coven and American Horror Story: NYC. She also appeared in Murphy’s musical series Glee.  Most recently, she was cast in the upcoming Disney+ follow-up series to WandaVision, Agatha: Coven of Witches, as Lilia Calderu.

Kardashian announced her new role in early April with a 40-second clip that revealed her casting in the upcoming season, titled Delicate, alongside AHS alum Emma Roberts. Commenting on the decision, Murphy said, “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.”

The reality star isn’t the first celebrity LuPone has dissed for stepping out of their comfort zone. In 2017, the actor, who originated the role of Eva Peron in the hit Broadway musical Evita, slammed Madonna for her portrayal of the titular character in the 1996 movie adaptation.

LuPone called Madonna’s rendition of “Buenos Aires” a “piece of shit.”

She continued, “Madonna is a movie killer. She’s dead behind the eyes. She couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag. She should not be on film or on stage. She’s a wonderful performer for what she does, but she is not an actress.”
