Drew Barrymore and Ross Mathews keep proving themselves to be daytime television’s power duo. During today’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the co-hosts revealed just how much they’ve picked up from one another.

Mathews sparked the discussion while reading off a Drew’s News headline regarding studies that show that couples “start to look alike over time because we start to mimic our partner’s manners and expressions.”

But why stop at married couples when it can happen with our work besties, too?

While Mathews admitted he doesn’t find the study to be true between him and his husband, he did say he often does this with Barrymore.

“Now, I was going to tell you. Wellington and I — we don’t really do this so much,” he said as Barrymore scooted her chair closer. “But my first thought was, ‘You know who I do this with? Drew!'”

In agreement, Barrymore added, “Also, lately all I say is Ross’ favorite term — or my favorite term of his. If you’re delivering him good news, bad news, information, doesn’t matter what it is. He’ll go, ‘Understood.'”

Mathews joked that you can tell him anything from the weather to announcing that he’s won the lottery and the response will always be the same: Understood. He even revealed the moment he found himself proud of his co-host for using the term.

“I was watching your interview with President Biden and you asked him a question, he answered, and you go, ‘Understood,'” Mathews told his friend before giving her a standing ovation.

But that’s not the only quirk she’s picked up from her partner in daytime TV crime.

Barrymore revealed that she also finds herself saying, “Hiyeee,” a lot — a phrase Mathews oftentimes greets people with. She added, “I think this article is true. People and their dogs start to look alike. So why wouldn’t it happen with humans too?”
