Valentine’s Day was yesterday, but we’re still feeling the love, especially when it comes to the wonderful women leading the way in some of the best new movies and shows on all your favorite streaming platforms. This Woman Crush Wednesday, we’re celebrating a superb Scottish actress who has already begun to make quite a name for herself on stage and screen at just 24 years of age. She’s an immense talent to keep an eye on, especially as she only continues to kill it more and more with every year, so without further ado, here’s your latest WCW, the incredible Isis Hainsworth!

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Hainsworth stars as Rochelle Mason in the upcoming Netflix Original title Red Rose, which premieres on the platform today, February 15. The horror drama series follows a ragtag crew of teens who find themselves fighting to survive a summer of terror after their friendships and lives are infiltrated by the titular “Red Rose” app. What at first feels like harmless fun swiftly spirals out of control as the app makes dangerous demands with deadly consequences, all while exposing the group to a seemingly supernatural entity and the seductive, devastating power of the dark web. See Hainsworth star alongside Amelia Clarkson, Natalie Blair, Ellis Howard, Ali Khan, Ashna Rabheru, and Adam Nagaitis in the thrilling new series that is Red Rose now on Netflix.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Hainsworth’s professional onscreen career began in 2016, when she played Maddy in all four episodes of drama miniseries Retribution and Vivienne Watt in an episode of crime-drama miniseries In Plain Sight. From there, she continued to pick up a steady stream of TV work, with a one-episode guest appearances in Les Misérables and The Diary of My Broken Vagina, and recurring roles in Harlots, Wanderlust, and The Victim

Hainsworth further expanded her repertoire by gaining film experience, beginning with dramatic short The Yearning and a recorded version of stage play ​​A Midsummer Night’s Dream, both in 2019, before making her feature film debut in 2020, playing Jenny in comedy-drama Misbehaviour and Elizabeth Martin in period romantic-comedy Emma. Since then, she has only continued to build up an impressive filmography with roles in TV series Skint, and in movies like 2021 dramatic short film Lilias Adie, 2022 Netflix Original musical comedy Metal Lords, and 2022 Prime Video Original adventure comedy Catherine Called Birdy
