Emily in Paris Season 3 Ending Explained: Who Does Emily End Up With?

The finale opens as any quality episode of Emily in Paris does…with picturesque shots of the city. We see Emily standing in front of Gabriel’s new and improved restaurant, and she smiles upon realizing he named it L’Esprit de Gigi after his grandmother. She walks over to congratulate him and he invites her inside to meet his grandma, who came to help him cook for the opening.

Emily and grandma Gigi instantly hit it off, but it quickly becomes clear that Gigi isn’t fond of Camille. Gabriel stresses how crucial the first week of the restaurant opening is, and Camille reminds him that they’re closed Saturday night because her parents are throwing them an engagement party. She invites Emily, Alfie, Mindy, and Mindy’s new man, and Emily accepts even though we know this won’t end well!

Back at the office, Julien announces he landed a major meeting with a potential client. Emily quickly jumps in and says she’ll start brainstorming ideas, but Julien gets defensive and assures her he’s planning a pitch deck. Emily reminds everyone of Gabriel’s reimagined restaurant opening and after sharing his dreams of receiving a Michelin star, she learns that Luc’s ex girlfriend Marianne just so happens to be a Michelin inspector. They broke up because Luc couldn’t keep her real occupation a secret, but after the meeting he decides to reach out to her.

Later that afternoon, Emily meets Mindy for lunch and they’re accidentally seated next to Camille and Sofia. Emily wonders what Sofia is doing back in Paris, and she tries to hide from her and Camille as they argue, but Camille spots them so they head over to say hello. Emily welcomes Sofia back to Paris and Sofia says she wishes her and Camille were still in Greece. Awkward! Mindy asks if Sofia is back for the restaurant opening or the engagement party, and Sofia essentially says NEITHER. Double awkward! Camille says that Sofia needs to leave ASAP, and Sofia stresses that she loves Paris (Camille) so she plans to be back “often.” When Emily and Mindy leave the restaurant Mindy has a change of heart since the engagement and encourages Emily to tell Gabriel that he saw Camille and Sofia kissing.

Luc gets his groove back and asks Marianne to dinner on Gabriel’s opening night. He hopes to get his girl back while also setting Gabriel up for a Michelin star. Emily decides not to tell Gabriel about the massive opportunity, but she does step into the kitchen to ask him to make the dishes “extra special” for Luc and his date. While Emily’s away, Alfie tells Mindy that Nico made Emily leave her party the other night, and Mindy hugs Emily, apologizes, and leaves to put Nico in his place. Nico says it’s been hard to be around Emily after the stunt she pulled with Pierre, but Mindy reminds him that Emily is her family and gives him one more shot to prove himself at Camille and Gabriel’s engagement party.

The following day, Luc tells Emily that Marianne loved Gabriel’s cooking and he thinks the restaurant is on track for a star. They head to the conference room for Julien’s big pitch, and he knocks it out of the park, but Emily still manages to one-up him, which sends him over the edge. “DO YOU HAVE AN OFF SWITCH,” he screams before fleeing the room. When Sylvie follows him he tells her that headhunters are after him all the time and she assures him she sees the issue with overzealous work ethic. Later that night we see Julien at his desk responding to an email with the following message: “I’ve considered your offer. Please do not discuss with anyone.” Uh oh. Seems like there’s trouble ahead.

Gabriel and Camille’s big day finally arrives, and everyone dresses up to mingle at the family chateau except Mindy and Nico, who are MIA. Emily locks eyes with Gabriel and it’s clear she still has feelings for him and wants to tell him about Camille’s affair. But before we see her next move, we check in on Mindy who’s pacing around her apartment furiously texting Nico to request his ETA. She gets so fed up that she tells him he blew it, and just then, there’s a knock at the door. In a twist, Mindy’s guest isn’t Nico! It’s Benoit! And he has NEWS. The song he wrote for Mindy was accepted by the Eurovision song contest so they’re headed to Eurovision!!!

Just when it seems like Mindy’s about to move on from Nico he calls and assures her they’ll make it to the party. How? They take a helicopter and land so close to the outdoor engagement dinner that they throw it into complete disarray. But even before they arrived, things weren’t going so smoothly. Camille’s younger brother Timothée (the one who earned Emily the nickname “brother fucker”) all but challenges Alfie to a duel over Emily, then Emily confronts Camille about kissing Sofia and encourages her to tell Gabriel. After Mindy and Nico’s grand entrance, Nico genuinely apologizes to Emily and they agree to start over.

Back at Gabriel’s restaurant, Marianne is raving about the food and Luc slips away to call Emily and share the good news: Gabriel’s restaurant is headed for a Michelin star. Luc tells Gabriel and Gabriel and Emily celebrate with kind words and an emotional double hug. Camille catches their intimate moment and her face drops. It’s clear she’s considering coming clean to Gabriel about her affair and wondering if he ever truly moved on from Emily.

In Paris, Sylvie and her hubby are taking a stroll by the water and he tells her he plans to open a private membership club with interest from major investors. He says he’s still waiting on one big fish to bite, but unfortunately that mystery investor is the owner of JVMA, Louis de Leon. Sylvie’s face drops when she learns about their business relationship, and it seems like we’ll unpack more of Louis’ problematic past behavior in Season 4.

At the engagement party, Gabriel finally shares his good news with Camille and asks her to get married immediately. She agrees and they usher everyone to a very conveniently located chapel (?!) where Gabriel delivers his vows and says “I do” to Camille in front of their loved ones. When it’s Camille’s turn to commit, she stops mid-vows and tells him the only reason they’re together is because she knew he was in love with Emily so she made a pact with her that neither of them would be with him. Then she promptly BROKE that pact and claimed Gabriel for herself. Camille tells the entire room (including Alfie) that Gabriel and Emily have been in love with each other since the moment they met and she knows their feelings haven’t changed. Camille says she can’t marry Gabriel and storms out of the chapel, then Alfie turns to Emily and breaks up with her. “I’m nobody’s second choice, Cooper,” he says. “Now go get your man.”

Gabriel and Emily lock eyes across the room and meet outside after some damage control to chat. They discuss the pact, their lingering feelings for each other, and the mess they’re in. Then Gabriel drops one final bomb: “Emily, there’s something you don’t know. Camille didn’t come back from Greece to revive our relationship. She came back to tell me that she’s pregnant.”

The final words of the season are Emily saying, “Oh my god,” and our parting shot is her and Gabriel sitting beside each other, staring straight ahead into their chaotic future. Netflix! Darren Star! All of Paris! We’re going to need Season 4, ASAP!
