Who Plays Sarah Atwood on ‘Yellowstone? Say Howdy Partner To Dawn Olivieri

There are three words that can transform a boring Sunday night into an epic adventure: Yellowstone is back!

If you’ve already watched the first two episodes of the new season, make sure to read Karen Kemmerle’s exceptional interviews with Jamie and Rip (Wes Bentley and Cole Hauser) on Decider. If you have yet to stream the second installment of Season 5 (“The Sting of Wisdom”), we’re about to talk about a new character introduced in the episode: Sarah Atwood.

Introduced in the second episode of the new season, Atwood is Market Equities’ new no nonsense corporate shark. While we only get a sample of Atwood’s cutthroat demeanor (“I love it when she gets really mad; it means I’m gonna make a lot of money”), Atwood seems to be on a collision course with Beth (Kelly Reilly).

Who plays Sarah Atwood on Yellowstone? Here’s everything you need to know.

WHO PLAYS SARAH ATWOOD IN SEASON 5 OF YELLOWSTONE?

Market Equities’ new corporate shark is portrayed by actor Dawn Olivieri.

WHERE HAVE I SEEN DAWN OLIVIERI BEFORE?

So many places. Olivieri is best known for playing Monica Talbot on Showtime’s House of Lies and Claire Dutton on Paramount+’s Yellowstone prequel 1883, which means she’s on the shortlist of actors who’ve appeared on both Yellowstone and 1883.

She also portrayed Janice Herveaux on True Blood, Lydia on Heroes, Andie Star on The Vampire Diaries, and has appeared on Lucifier, SEAL Team, and Rosewood. You may also recognize her as Sherri Ward from the Netflix movie Bright.

DAWN OLIVIERI WAS MADE FOR YELLOWSTONE:

During a recent interview with Shoutout LA, Dawn revealed that she lived in a variety of different places during the pandemic, including a wild mustang ranch, a double wide trailer, and “a tiny cabin on a national forest boundary.”

The (fantastic) title of the article, “Meet Dawn Olivieri: Actress & Goat Herder,” makes sense. If you take a look at Olivieri’s Instagram, her feed is filled with adorable animal pics. This anecdote from the article is also very Yellowstone-esque:

“I searched ‘acres’ and that was that. With no partner and no nest egg I moved onto an off-grid cabin on 20 wild acres at the start of winter. I had two big dogs to keep the bears away and some chickens for eggs and a will to make it work. It was hard. REALLY hard. I felt like a real-life frontiers woman. I would drag my exhausted body into modernity looking like a mountain lion feeling farther and farther away from a cosmopolitan perspective. I was breathing wild air and fighting for my life and it changes you.”

The first two episodes of Yellowstone are now streaming on Philo, fuboTV, and the Paramount Network website.
