Joy Behar Compares Turning Point USA Conference Protesters to Nazi Germany on ‘The View’: “Now is the Time for People to Speak Up”

Following Florida’s Turning Point USA summit, which featured guest speakers from former President Donald Trump to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, the ladies of The View called out the governor and silent Republicans for failing to condemn neo-nazi protesters who showed up outside the venue.

Joy Behar, who said the protesters came with antisemitic slurs, Nazi swastikas, and “so-called pictures of a Jewish person with exaggerated features,” was the first to slam DeSantis for not speaking up.

“DeSantis did not say anything about it. Nothing. So it’s sort of his rendition of a ‘good people on both sides,'” Behar said.

She went on to compare the silence to Nazi Germany saying, “There were Germans in Germany at that time who did not speak up because they were like, ‘Well maybe it’ll go away,’ and they were quiet. And then when it became full-blown Nazism and Jews and other people were being thrown in concentration camps, it was too late for them.”

She continued, “So now is the time for people to speak up. Every time someone makes an antisemitic remark or a racist statement, you must say something about it.”

Guest host Ana Navarro also urged people to speak up adding, “Whenever you see bigotry of this level, you can’t let it go. You can’t pretend that you didn’t see it. You have to condemn it regardless of party, regardless of politics.”

Following co-host Sarah Haines voicing her concern for the young people the event was catered toward, Whoopi Goldberg closed out the topic saying, “We know these folks are out there and now they’re in the light. So you have a decision to make: where do you stand? Because if they come for one, they’re coming for all.”
