Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke Make for a Dynamic Duo in ‘Do Revenge’ First Look

Two teen drama queens are teaming up for Netflix‘s juicy new movie, Do Revenge. The streamer released the first look at the upcoming film today, showing off photos featuring Riverdale star Camila Mendes and Stranger Things actress Maya Hawke.

Mendes and Hawke star as two teens who unite in their quest to get even with those who’ve wronged them, or as Netflix puts it, “After a clandestine meet-cute, Drea (Alpha, fallen it girl) and Eleanor (beta, new alt girl) team up to go after each other’s tormentors. Do Revenge is a subverted Hitchock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls.”

Along with Mendes and Hawke, the movie stars other familiar Netflix faces, including Austin Abrams of Dash & Lily fame and Jonathan Daviss from everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure, Outer Banks. The cast also includes Rish Shah, Talia Ryder, Ava Capri, Maia Reficco, Paris Berelc, Alisha Boe and Sophie Turner.

Do Revenge comes from writer and director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who was also behind 2019’s Someone Great. Robinson shared her inspiration behind Do Revenge with Elle, telling the outlet that she and producer Peter Cron “backwards-engineered this story of revenge off of: What would it be like to take the fun, thrillery stakes of a Hitchcock movie and put it in high school?”

Elle also has a little more info about Do Revenge‘s two main characters, Drea (Mendes) and Eleanor (Hawke), mainly why they’re on this “Hitchock-ian” journey in the first place — and yikes, this fictional high school sounds brutal. Drea is on the quest for revenge after her sex tape was leaked by her boyfriend, while Eleanor is looking to get back at a mean girl who not only outed her, but also lied about being held down and made to kiss Eleanor.

Do Revenge premieres on Netflix Sept. 16. In the meantime, check out the first look photos below.
