Who Are The Dancers In ‘Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrrls’?

Prime Video’s newest reality series is a dance competition to find out who has what it takes to twerk with Lizzo on her next world tour.

So who are the dancers competing in Lizzo’s Watch Out For The Big Grrls?

Meet Lizzo’s ladies, in alphabetical order (bios provided by Prime Video):

Asia Banks

Asia is a 23-year-old dancer from San Bernardino, CA and raised in Birmingham, AL. She started dancing at the age of 4, but she really started taking dance seriously after the tragic loss of her father and continues to dance in his memory. She is a trained praise and majorette dancer and has also studied African and hip hop styles. As the former captain of the first exclusively plus sized dance team at an HBCU, The Alabama State Honeybees, Asia is a pioneer for the body positivity movement and is a strong advocate for mental health awareness in all communities. She wants the world to know that she is a resilient, big hearted, and fun person. Her favorite Lizzo song is “Soulmate.”

Sydney Bell

Sydney is a 24-year-old dancer from Houston, TX. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old and also has a strong background in cheerleading. From beginning cheerleading at the age of 7 to cheerleading for her Texas jr. high school, then as a varsity member for her high school team, Sydney continued on to be dance team captain for her Division 1 college dance team in Brooklyn, NY. Her mother was her first dance teacher and she danced at the famed Ailey School in New York City in her youth. Sydney is known as a curve model and social media influencer, where her platform highlights body positivity and dance. She has modeled for large, nation-wide campaigns and events including being the face and voice of Rue 21 Plus, walking for Pretty Little Thing at Miami Swim Week, modeling for NYX Cosmetics, and being featured in Essence and Cosmopolitan magazines. Her favorite Lizzo song is “Scuse Me.” 

Arianna Davis

Arianna, also known as Ari, is a 22-year-old dancer from Indianapolis, IN. She has been a technically trained dancer since she was 2 years old, studying styles including ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and modern. Arianna loves dancing because it allows her to express emotions she cannot put words to, especially after the recent loss of her grandmother to COVID. She’s worked a variety of jobs before joining the show as an Uber eats driver, barista, Sunday school teacher, Broadway merchandise seller, and more. Arianna hopes to spread joy through her artistic passions and her hobbies include painting, cooking, playing with her dog and singing/songwriting (she hopes to one day become a recording artist). Her favorite Lizzo songs are “Cuz I Love You” and “Heaven Help Me.

Charity Holloway

Charity is a 35-year-old dance instructor and marketing account executive from Charlotte, NC. She has been dancing since middle school and while she’s dabbled in various dance styles, hip hop is her favorite. Charity teaches at a local dance studio in Charlotte and founded her own plus size dance troupe, 4Thirty-Two, in 2016. The troupe has traveled and performed internationally, creating content to spread the message that plus size girls have a place in the dance world. Her favorite Lizzo songs are “Rumors” and “Soulmate.”

Isabel Jones

Isabel is a 25-year-old dancer from the Bay Area, CA and has been dancing since before she could walk. Her mother signed her up for hip-hop classes at the age of 5 and while she is trained in hip hop and contemporary dance styles, she has the strongest connection to K-pop dancing. As a longtime K-pop fan, Isabel expresses her love for the genre by posting dance covers of K-pop choreography on social media. She has a Master’s Degree in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) and works as an English instructor for international university students. Dancing has always been a part of her life and despite occasionally receiving negative comments for her dance videos, she knows that her passion helps inspire others. Her favorite Lizzo song is “Juice.”

Kiara Mooring

Kiara is a 26-year-old dancer from Ewing, NJ. She has been dancing since the age of 2, learning traditional African dance with Timbuktu dance company at her school, APAS (African People‘s Action School). She credits her parents for her musicality as her mother was a dancer and her father was a DJ. Kiara has trained in hip hop, contemporary, afrobeats, Jersey club movement, and heels dance styles. Her hobbies include roller skating, painting, art & crafts, and creating content for her Instagram followers. Kiara is unapologetically herself and wants the world to know that her imperfections make her perfect. Her favorite Lizzo songs are “Worship” and “Coconut Oil.”

Jasmine Morrison

Jasmine is a 31-year-old dancer and mother of two from Queens, NY. She took her first dance class at the age of 8, but it wasn’t until age 11 during her first ballet class that she knew this was her life’s passion. She is trained in hip hop (pop and locking, funk, groove, and freestyling), street jazz, tap, jazz, ballet, modern, West African dance, and lyrical, but hip hop is where she can express herself best. Jasmine is also a graduate of Frank Sinatra School of the Arts, where she fostered her acting talent as a Drama major (Long Island City, Queens), and is a proud alumna of Devore Dance Center, where she dedicated 20 years of her dance training. Growing up in the 90s, she lists artists like TLC, Britney Spears, Destiny’s Child, and Janet Jackson as huge inspirations alongside choreographers Mia Michaels and Wade Robson. Outside of dancing, Jasmine loves her job as an Operations Manager at Old Navy. She wants the world to know that she is a product of her faith, both in herself and in God. Her biggest goal in life is to empower her daughters to follow their dreams and never give up on themselves. Her favorite Lizzo song is “Scuse Me.”

Moesha Perez

Moesha is a 24-year-old off-Broadway stylist, costume designer, dancer, dance instructor, dresser, costume supervisor, wig designer, singer and choreographer from Bronx, NY. She has been dancing since she was just 2 and is trained in hip hop, street jazz, and voguing. Moesha is Black and was adopted into a Puerto Rican family when she was young and has ten siblings between her adopted and biological families. She is also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. Moesha lives to perform, something she realized after breaking her right ankle in 2020 and working tirelessly to get back on stage. Moesha wants the world to see her as a fun, unique, talented, loving and creative individual. Her favorite Lizzo songs are “Soulmate” and “Jerome.”

Jayla Sullivan

Jayla is a 33-year-old dancer from Portland, Oregon and raised in Buffalo, NY. Originally a gymnast, Jayla has been dancing since she was 10 years old and has trained in 12 different styles of dance including tap, jazz, ballet, and modern. When she’s not dancing, Jayla works as a makeup artist and produces drag brunches and performances in the Portland area and also enjoys cooking, camping, hiking and spending time with friends and family. She is passionate about making sure there is transgender representation in dance. Her favorite Lizzo song is “Soulmate.”

Ashley Williams

Ashley is a 27-year-old dancer from Inkster, MI, who is trying to walk in her purpose on this Earth. She has been dancing since she was 5 years old and is trained in ballet, cecchetti, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, and flag/majorette styles. She was a majorette and Campus Queen at her HBCU, Livingstone College and toured as a background dancer for gospel singer Kierra Sheard. When she’s not dancing, Ashley enjoys making YouTube videos, working as a traveling makeup artist, listening to music, acting, and hosting social events. She believes that no matter what size, race, age, or demographic you come from, with God you can do anything you put your heart into. Her favorite Lizzo song is “Soulmate.”
