Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent And More Blow Roof of Super Bowl With History Making Performance

This year’s Super Bowl halftime show made history with a stunning performance from five — actually, make that six! — world-renowned performers. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Eminem exploded with a killer set during tonight’s big game, even welcoming in surprise star 50 Cent to round things out. Unfortunately, we’ve got to get back to the game, but we all could’ve watched that for hours, right? Right.

The first-ever Super Bowl with rap at its center, the five folks helming this year’s halftime show have been hyping this up for weeks. And it was all worth it, fans noted, calling the show an epic blast to that great ’90s nostalgia we all love.

The show began with “The Next Episode” from Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. They continued into Tupac’s “California Love” with some updated 2022 lyrics, then rolling into the first big surprise of the show: 50 Cent! The beloved rapper took the stage to sing his hit “In Da Club.” Next on the roster was Mary J. Blige, who took things upward with her “Family Affair” and “No More Drama.” Then it was time for Kendrick, who continued the show with his “Alright.” Eminem had to perform “Lose Yourself” — how could he not? — and the show rounded out with all of the performers joining while Dre performed his “Still D.R.E.”

Folks from every corner of social media rolled in to share their thoughts on the performance, applauding both the great throwback hits along with the new history-making show.

“Loved the halftime show, btw,” sports icon Stephen A. Smith tweeted. “May have moved into my top-5, along with Michael Jackson. Beyoncé — with and without Bruno Mars — and Bruno Mars by himself.”

And even though the NFL reportedly told Eminem not to kneel, the rapper still did it in an act of solidarity with former player Colin Kaepernick. What a legend!
