We’ve made it, folks! The month of September has drawn to a close, and spooky season is on the horizon. But before we get there, we’ve got one last Woman Crush Wednesday of the month, and we’re going out with a bang to celebrate this incredible actress, singer, and producer who has been putting consistently wonderful work out there since she was just a kid. So, without further ado, give it up for your WCW, the vivacious Christina Vidal!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Christina Vidal

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Vidal plays Sergeant Denise Wade in crime thriller film The Guilty, which premieres on Netflix this Friday, October 1st. The movie is a remake of the 2018 Danish film of the same name, and revolves around demoted police officer Joe Baylor (Jake Gyllenhaal), who has been assigned to a call dispatch desk and finds himself conflicted when he receives an emergency phone call from a kidnapped woman. In addition to Vidal and Gyllenhaal, this intense new picture features the work of a lot of big-name talent, including Ethan Hawke, Paul Dano, Riley Keough, Eli Goree, Bill Burr, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph.

The film, which had a limited theatrical release on September 24th, is already receiving plenty of praise and buzz from publications like CNNEmpire, us here at Decider, and more. Make sure to see what all of the hype is about by checking out The Guilty as soon as it drops on Netflix this week.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Vidal’s professional onscreen career began before she’d even turned 13 years-old when she starred as Angie Vega in 1993 comedy-drama feature film Life with Mikey. The young actress exploded onto the scene from there, appearing over the next several years in television series like Nick Freno: Licensed TeacherBrink!Providence, and Touched by an Angel, as well as in the 1995 coming-of-age dark comedy film Welcome to the Dollhouse.

By the time the new millennium hit, Vidal had landed her own sitcom on Nickelodeon, starring as the titular Taina Maria Morales in Taina, which ran from 2001 to 2002. From there, she further expanded upon her filmography with roles in shows like Sabrina, the Teenage Witch10-8: Officers on DutyGirlfriendsERMonkHouseThe Deep EndCastleThe Player, and Major Crimes, as well as in films like 2003 comedy Chasing Papi, 2003 fantasy-comedy Freaky Friday, 2006 slasher See No Evil, 2007 romantic-comedy I Think I Love My Wife, and 2010 thriller Magic Man. Within the last several years, Vidal has continued to crush it with recurring roles in shows like Code BlackTraining DaySneaky Pete, Grand Hotel, and United We Fall, and work in films like 2017 horror fantasy-drama The Keeping Hours and 2019 adventure comedy 7 Days to Vegas.

With such a diverse and extensive list of credits, it is no wonder that Vidal has built such an impressive and long-lasting career for herself in the entertainment industry, and we look forward to the many successes she will continue to have in the years to come.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Luckily, you won’t have to wait too much longer to see more from Vidal. The actress is set to have a recurring role as Mac Wilson in upcoming Amazon Prime Video drama-thriller series The Terminal List, which follows a former Navy SEAL officer (Chris Pratt) as he investigates why his entire platoon was ambushed during a high-stakes covert mission. The currently-filming show is based upon the 2018 Jack Carr novel of the same name, and features a fantastic cast that includes Constance Wu, Taylor Kitsch, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Riley Keough, in addition to Vidal and Pratt.
