Over-the-top car racing and jeans that can kill you are basically my two favorite things, and lucky me, they’re both heavily featured in this week’s new movies on VOD. At long last, F9, the ninth film in The Fast Saga, is out on VOD, and this time, John Cena joins Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and the rest of our F&F faves for some high-performance driving. Then there’s SLAXX, the film that asks the question “What would happen if the pants from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants were infused with homicidal AI?” I mean, now that the question has been posed, you wanna know the answer, right?

And for even more thrills, Euphoria and White Lotus breakout star Sydney Sweeney appears in The Voyeurs, a Rear Window for the modern age. The film features Sweeney and Justice Smith as a young couple who move into an apartment that overlooks the home of a volatile couple played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ben Hardy. They can’t help but watch as their neighbors fight, argue, and have sex, but they play a dangerous game when they get sucked into the tempestuous drama of the relationship.

F9: The Fast Saga

Oh, you thought that just because Dom Toretto and Letty had a kid (little Brian), they’d cut back on the action and death-defying vehicular stunts? You’re so wrong. In the latest installment of the Fast franchise, Dom’s past comes back to haunt him in the form of John Cena, Dom’s long lost brother Jakob. The film also features returning cast like Jordana Brewster, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Charlize Theron, and Nathalie Emmanuel, plus new faces like Cena and Cardi B. Fan favorite Han, played by Sung Kang is back, too. (“BUT HE DIED!” you’re saying. I mean, sure, but so did Letty, and they brought her back too.)

SLAXX

There is no greater horror than pants shopping. Well, okay, actually there is one greater horror: Finally finding the perfect pair of pants, only to have them strangle you to death. SLAXX is a new horror comedy that doesn’t take itself seriously at all, because even if watching a possessed pair of jeans come to life like a Chucky doll was a serious premise, the fact that the jeans like dancing to Bollywood music manages to ease the tension a little. When a new brand of jeans promising the perfect fit arrives to a trendy boutique, they arrive with a surprise: They can kill. While this pair of stretch denim picks off the sales clerks one by one, you can be certain that you’ve never seen anything like this.
