We may have a little less than a month before we start seeing new episodes of Rick and Morty, but we now have a better look at what’s to come. Today, the official Rick and Morty Twitter account released all 10 episodes titles for Season 5. And the forced puns are strong with this one.

The 10 episode titles were released in a video, which featured a new scene from this upcoming season:

Assuming that these episode titles appeared in the order of this season’s episodes, here’s what we can expect:

  • Episode 1: “Mort Dinner Rick Andre”
  • Episode 2: “Mortyplicity”
  • Episode 3: “Rickdependence Spray”
  • Episode 4: “A Rickinconvenient Mort”
  • Episode 5: “Amortycan Grickfitti”
  • Episode 6: “Rick & Morty’s Thanksploitation Spectacular”
  • Episode 7: “Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion”
  • Episode 8: “Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort”
  • Episode 9: “Forgetting Sarick Mortshall”
  • Episode 10: “Rickmurai Jack”

Ever since Rick and Morty premiered, its been clumsily shoving the words “Rick” and “Morty” into episode titles to the point of absurd hilarity. Most of these episodes typically tie back to the movies and shows they reference. So we can assume that “Mort Dinner Rick Andre” will likely feature an important dinner à la My Dinner with Andre. Likewise “Forgetting Sarick Mortshall” will probably be a rom-com in the same vein as Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Fingers crossed that “Rickmurai Jack” will be a silly ode to one of Adult Swim’s greatest shows.

This list of episode names also gives us a clue into exactly when we can expect certain new scenes. For example, Season 5’s first trailer revealed that there would be a Voltron-inspired episode. Based on that footage it feels comfortable to conclude that Episode 7, “Gotron Jerrysis Rickvangelion”, will be that mech-focused episode. And as an added bonus it may also include some Neon Genesis Evangelion references. Similarly we also know there will be an episode where the Smith family will have to deal with their clones or at least alternate versions of themselves from another timeline. That feels an awful lot lot Multiplicity, the 1996 sci-fi comedy Episode 2 is clearly referencing.

But the episode we’re most interested in is Episode 6, “Rick & Morty’s Thanksploitation Spectacular.” Ever since Season 1 some of the most interesting episodes of this show have broken the unspoken rule about referencing pop culture. That was true for Season 1’s absolute banger of a fan favorite “Rixty Minutes” as well as the series’ two Emmy winning episodes, Season 3’s “Pickle Rick” and Season 4’s “The Vat of Acid Episode.” Whatever a Thanksploitation is, it’s probably going to be unexpectedly devastating and awards eligible. No matter what it’s about, we can’t wait to watch this new season starting Sunday, June 20.
