Whether you’re new to royal gossip or desperate for the latest in-depth doc, here are the seven shows, documentaries, interviews, and more you’ll want to watch after Oprah With Meghan and Harry. (And the good news is you can stream most of these titles on Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, or even Disney+…)

'The Crown'

Perhaps the most popular (and obvious) show to watch for more royal gossip is Netflix’s The Crown. The Peter Morgan series takes us behind-the-scenes to portray the royals as empathetic souls tortured by all the romances, joys, and opportunities they could chase if they didn’t have a duty to their nation. The Crown Season 4 is undoubtedly the juiciest season yet and depicts the culture shock young Diana Spencer (Emma Corrin) faced when she became engaged to Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor). It puts the tension between mental health and the Firm’s lofty expectations into focus, much as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview did.

'Diana: In Her Own Words'

The single most explosive documentary about the royals has got to be the relatively recent Diana: In Her Own Words. In the early ‘90s, Princess Diana sat down for her own no-holds barred interview, only it was totally secret. Listen to Diana herself explain her experience with the royal family, including insane tidbits about how Charles wanted Harry to be a girl, the Camilla love triangle, and how she tried to miscarry William (!!) by throwing herself down the stairs. The interview was the backbone of journalist Andrew Morton’s famous biography of Diana and helped Emma Corrin nail Princess Diana’s voice in The Crown.

'Queen of the World'

Eager to see the royals in a more positive light? The 2018 documentary Queen of the World is a propaganda film that the Windsors made to promote the good work they all do in the Queen’s Commonwealth. Besides that, though, it’s a juicy look behind-the-scenes at royal tours and the lead-up to Harry and Meghan’s wedding. There’s also some truly fabulous Princess Anne segments for those of us more invented in that plucky princess.

'Charles and Diana: 1983'

The most recent royal documentary to hit the airwaves is Charles and Diana: 1983. The hour-long doc features footage from Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s 1983 royal tour of Australia as well as interviews with two royal experts, Ingrid Seward and Paul Burrell. The documentary confirms the narrative put forward in The Crown, that Diana was in over her head and Charles jealous of her acclaim. However the film adds nuance to the events and even seems to underline Harry and Meghan’s perspective on their situation.

Diana's 'Panorama' Interview

Oprah with Meghan and Harry wasn’t the first time a member of the royals has sat down for a major TV interview. In 1995, Princess Diana sat down with Martin Bashir for an interview with the BBC’s Panorama. In that tell-all, Diana admitted for the first time that she suffered from bulimia and infamously said there were three people in her marriage: herself, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles. You can’t stream the interview today — and Bashir’s methods for landing the scoop have been revealed to be have been less than ethical — but you can read the transcript. And it’s as dramatic today as it was 26 years ago.

'Bryony Gordon’s Mad World: Prince Harry'

If you were taken aback by Prince Harry’s candor during Oprah with Meghan and Harry or the frank discussions about mental illness, you may not have been paying attention to the young royal lately. The Duke of Sussex has made it one of his personal missions to shine a spotlight on mental health. So much so he sat down with journalist Bryony Gordon in a 2017 episode of her Mad World podcast to open up about his own struggles with grief and trauma. It was here that Harry first opened up about the toll his mother’s death had on him and the benefits of therapy in his life.

'Succession'

Sure The Crown is obviously about the royals, but HBO’s Succession is about what it’s like to be trapped in a toxic, privileged family with no seeming way out. The series follows the fictional Roy clan as a rising generation of offspring jockey for the affection and attention of their cruel media mogul father. No spoilers, but Prince Harry’s damning comments about his own family drove many Succession fans to draw comparisons between Harry and a beloved member of the Roy clan…
