History buffs rejoice—there’s a new adaptation of The Right Stuff coming to your screens! The 8-episode mini-series adapts Tom Wolfe’s 1979 book of the same name, which chronicled the birth of the American space program and the lives of the men selected to be the country’s first astronauts. The landmark book was adapted into a feature film in 1983, and now it’s getting a TV adaptation on Disney+.

This new adaptation of The Right Stuff comes from Halt and Catch Fire producer Mark Lafferty and Snowpiercer producer Lizzie Mickery, as well as EP Leonardo DiCaprio. The Right Stuff will premiere on Disney+ on Friday, October 9. The first two episodes of the series will be added to the streaming service at 3 A.M. ET on Friday morning.
