Woman Crush Wednesday: Get to Know ‘Get Even’ Star Kim Adis

Already, July has flashed before our eyes, and we inch closer and closer to the end of summer. But before we get too ahead of ourselves, we’ve got to stop and celebrate today, the final Woman Crush Wednesday of the month! Luckily for us, this long, 31 day month just meant that we had even more titles than usual to watch and check out the terrific work from talented actresses of all ages, cultures, and walks of life. For this week’s WCW we’re celebrating a young actress who has already accrued many impressive credits in her budding career, and who surely has many more years to come in the biz. So, without further ado, give it up for this week’s WCW, the amazing Kim Adis!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Kim Adis

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING:

Adis stars in British teen thriller series Get Even, which originally premiered on BBC iPlayer on February 14th of this year, and is being rereleased by Netflix this Friday, July 31st. Adis plays Kitty Wei, a high school girl who feels pressured to overachieve due to her parents’ high expectations, and who — alongside Bree Deringer (Mia McKenna-Bruce), Margot Rivers (Bethany Antonia), and Olivia Hayes (Jessica Alexander) — form DGM (Don’t Get Mad) to expose the bullies at their school. However, when one of their targets is murdered by an unknown attacker and holds a note saying “DGM” in his hand, the girls realize somebody is trying to frame them for his murder. The ten-episode series sounds like a dramatic and engrossing ride, and we can’t wait to see what Adis brings to the table to lead the way on this highly anticipated show.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Adis has been working professionally for less than a decade, but even so, she has already accrued an impressive and varied list of credits that include everything from television to video games. Everything began for Adis in 2016, with her role as Clare in the drama/horror short film The Party Game. From there, Adis hit the ground running, appearing in a 2018 episode of drama/mystery/thriller mini-series The Cry, playing a recurring role as Anda from 2018 to 2019 in action/adventure/drama series Krypton, landing roles in films like 2019 crime mystery-drama Intrigo: Dear Agnes, 2020 drama-horror The Turning, and 2020 sci-fi movie The Complex: Lockdown (and she even voices her character, Clare Mahek, in the video game version of the film, which also came out this year), all before getting her first big lead role as Kitty in Get Even. With a career like this under her belt and only at the beginning of her career, we are sure to see a lot more of Adis in the years to come, and we can’t wait to see what she does in the future.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Luckily, we don’t have to wait too long to see what’s next for Adis, as she has a role in brand new sci-fi television series Foundation currently in the works (it is expected to premiere sometime next year). The series revolves around a complex saga of humans who are scattered on planets throughout the galaxy and are all living under the rule of the Galactic Empire.
