‘My Super Sweet 16’, ‘Cribs’, and More Classic MTV Shows Are Now Free on Youtube

Let’s reminisce about simpler times, when Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan ruled the tabloids, Instagram and iPhones didn’t exist, and MTV wore the reality TV crown. Now, MTV  is doing its best to bring us back to the mid-aughts. They’re diving into their treasure trove of classic 2000s content and gifting us some of the best reality shows from the golden age of unscripted TV. The network that made Snooki famous is re-releasing free episodes of its classic reality TV shows, from early hits like 2000’s Cribs to the over-the-top ridiculous My Super Sweet 16 from 2005. All of the shows are dropping on Youtube on the MTV Vault Youtube Channel, and some are already available to watch.

New uploads of the shows will be released by MTV in one-episode increments on different days — perhaps in a throwback to a pre-streaming time, before we could binge an entire season of a show in 24 hours on Netflix. MTV will be re-releasing episodes from CribsMy Super Sweet 16Parental ControlPunk’dRoom Raiders and Silent Library. Cribs episodes will come to Youtube on Mondays and Fridays, Silent Library content will premiere on Tuesdays, Punk’d will be uploaded on Wednesdays and Parental Control will debut on Thursdays.

MTV has already released the 2007 episode of Cribs, featuring 50 Cent and his modest 19-bedroom home (which has 34 bathrooms, if you were wondering), as well as 2012’s Zac Efron Punk’d episode, where he’s tricked into thinking he’s been arrested. In a quintessentially 2000s lineup next week, Tony Hawk and JoJo show off their homes on Cribs and Jessica Alba and Wilmer Valderrama get pranked on Punk’d.

Sure, you can still watch Punk’d today with the new Quibi version hosted by Chance the Rapper, but why would you do that when you can see footage of Ashton Kutcher making Justin Timberlake cry in the same episode that features Frankie Muniz?

You can watch all of your MTV guilty pleasures on MTV’s Vault Youtube page, and keep an eye out for new episodes next week.
