Singles Are Paid Not to Have Sex In Netflix’s ‘Too Hot To Handle’ Trailer

Love Is Blind looks like a family-friendly PG special compared to Netflix’s newest dating show. Netflix released the trailer for Too Hot To Handle this morning, and it’s full of “hot, horny, serial swipers” — their words, not ours. The premise of the show is pretty simple: there are ten singles living on an island together, all competing for a $100,000 grand prize. But there’s a catch: if they kiss at all or have sex, they’re fined, so they lose money and it’s deducted from the total prize.

“This retreat is full of the sexiest people in the world,” one contestant says in the beginning of the trailer. Yikes, should someone tell her the rules? Enter an Alexa-like device, which efficiently crushes her dreams and explains the situation to the contestants. “There are conditions to your stay here,” the speaker says. “No kissing or sex of any kind. This retreat is to help you gain deeper emotional connections.” Naturally, this sends the whole crew of singles into a spiral. There are gasps, swears and groans.

Netflix puts it this way: “In this luxury no-bone zone, will the serial singletons be able to form deeper emotional connections? Or will the temptation simply be too hot to handle?” If the trailer is any indication, it looks like some of them cave — there’s plenty of make-out sessions and close touching. But we also see some contestants stick to the island’s orders. “I don’t want to break the rules,” one says.

“Is ‘blue balls’ a real thing?” one contestant asks another. Well, Too Hot To Handle is on a mission to find out. You’ll have to wait for the answer until April 17 when the series premieres on Netflix, but you can watch the full Too Hot To Handle trailer above.
