Jerry Seinfeld’s Special ‘23 Hours To Kill’ Comes to Netflix Next Month

Last September, Netflix secured the streaming rights to the iconic ’90s sitcom SeinfeldNow, they’re doubling down on the Jerry Seinfeld content and bringing the comedian’s latest stand-up special to their audience. Netflix announced today that Seinfeld’s most recent special, 23 Hours To Kill, will premiere exclusively on the streaming service next month.

23 Hours To Kill — named in reference to Seinfeld’s joke about stand-up comedians spending one hour of their day on stage and the rest of the day waiting to perform — was filmed at New York’s Beacon Theater, and brings us Seinfeld’s own signature takes on everyday life. The show coming to Netflix is part of Seinfeld’s residency at the Beacon, which was recorded before the coronavirus shutdown, although Seinfeld had to cut the last few shows of his residency short last month because of the virus.

The hour-long special comes three years after 2017’s Jerry Before Seinfeld, the comedian’s first Netflix stand-up special. Seinfeld first struck a deal with Netflix in 2017, which included two stand-up specials and his Emmy-nominated show, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee. 23 Hours To Kill and Jerry Before Seinfeld are his most recent specials since 1999, when he created I’m Telling You For The Last Time for HBO.

Seinfeld fans can also look forward to another release from the comedian this year, coming after 23 Hours To Kill. He’s working on his upcoming book, which is currently untitled and will be published in October. The book will feature some of Seinfeld’s jokes from his comedy career, all organized by decade.

You can watch 23 Hours To Kill when it comes to Netflix on May 5. In the meantime, we suggest you check out Decider’s list of 51 comedies to stream while social distancing if you’re in need of a laugh.
