What Was Going On With This Ridiculous Guest Request On ‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’?

One of the best parts of the Below Deck shows is seeing what kind of insane requests the super wealthy guests make when they’re chartering the yachts. Already this season on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, there was a request for a wedding to be prepared in just hours (which never even happened) and the repeated demand for cocktail shrimp from the Long Island bros, but this most recent request…simply makes no sense.

Once the beach party was finally set up and the guests took their place at the table, a guest named Carla looked around puzzled and asked, “Is she gonna serve us? Or…Just pass it? It’s a little more difficult.” Jenna was clearly busy with other things, including delivering the food to the table, so Carla seemed to make do. Though when it came to one side dish she commented, “I’m kind of afraid to eat the asparagus. I cannot stand the way it makes your urine smell,” which was met with laughs from the table.

But the next morning, the laughs were gone once Jenna delivered the breakfast dishes to the table and Carla again said, “I kinda would like for her to make our plates. It’s so hard to…you know, get everything.” Now this should make any brow furrow as it’s clear Carla is sitting less than a foot away from several of the plates, and the rest of which can be passed in her direction. But her friend suggests, “We’ll ask her to make your plate.”

“I can probably get the fruit myself but a little granola, some hashbrowns, and a little piece of bacon,” Carla instructs Jenna to put on her plate, as the chief stew goes up and down the table preparing the dish.

“How hard is it to get up off your ass, Carla?” Jenna asks in her interview. “Should I also chew it up and baby bird feed it to you?”

Again, there have been some wild requests, and even demands, on these boats before, but for a grown woman to declare it’s too hard for her to shovel a few spoonfuls of food onto her plate seems totally bizarre. Now, if she has something wrong with her arms or hands or wrists or has bird bones, then nevermind all of this, she’s excused. It’s her friends that should be helping her out or this should’ve been specified on her preference sheet. But if she’s a capable human being then… what? This is weird, right? Is it just a way for her to truly live the ultimate life of luxury by literally not lifting a finger? I understand wanting a fine dining experience if you’re shelling out all that money but serving yourself isn’t that complicated of a task for the few meals that aren’t already plated and plopped directly in front of the guests.

Luckily, Jenna was too busy also spooning out instructions to her stews about routine tasks that needed to be completed around the boat to be too annoyed about also having to prepare a plate for Carla.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht airs Monday at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.
