Pete Davidson Takes Shots at Ex Ariana Grande in Netflix Special

What better way to get over an ex than to slam them onstage? In Pete Davidson‘s new Netflix special, the comedian has some choice words for his ex fiancé Ariana Grande. And let’s just say he doesn’t think the aftermath of their relationship was handled in a very fair way.

In the summer of 2018 Davidson started a whirlwind romance with pop superstar Ariana Grande after the singer hosted Saturday Night Live. For six months every news story about them was about sex, love, and and Davidson’s d before their engagement was called off in October of 2018. Both stars have been fairly outspoken about their relationship. Davidson has mocked it multiple times on SNL, and at least two of Grande’s directly mentions her ex. But it’s not Grande’s catchy music Davidson has a problem with. It’s her interviews.

In Pete Davidson: Alive from New York, he talks about a controversial Vogue cover story Grande did in July of 2019. In the interview the singer calls Davidson “an amazing distraction.” “It was frivolous and fun and insane and highly unrealistic, and I loved him, and I didn’t know him,” Grande says in the interview. These comments didn’t ignite a controversy but her deeply tanned cover photo did.

“Can you imagine if I did that?” Davidson says in his special according to Vulture.  “My career would be over tomorrow. If I spray-painted myself brown and hopped on the cover of Vogue magazine and just started shitting on my ex.”

He also called out Grande for her flippant portrayal of their relationship. “Can you imagine if I did that shit? If I was just like, ‘Yeah, I was just fucking her ’cause I was bored, and then Fortnite came out.’ It would be insane,” Davidson said.

Those two jabs aren’t the only ones that appear in the comedy routine. The comedian also jokes that Grande made him “a household name for no reason,” slams her fans as nine-year-olds, calls her out for her many comments about his dick, and admits that he never liked how often she talked about his dick or the term “Big Dick Energy” (though he refers to it as Big Dick Summer). Moral of the story? This breakup is still going super well and everything is healthy on both sides.
