Will There Be ‘A Fall From Grace’ Sequel? Bresha Webb Says Tyler Perry “Keeps Smiling”

Warning: This article contains A Fall From Grace spoilers.

Not only does the new Tyler Perry movie on Netflix, A Fall From Grace, come with a crazy plot twist, it also ends on a cliffhanger that will leave viewers wanting to know what happens next.

If you didn’t watch the film, I’m not sure why you clicked on this article, but I’ll give you a rundown of the plot anyhow: Grace (Crystal Fox) is a woman accused of murdering her younger husband Shannon (Mehcad Brooks). Her lawyer Jasmine (Bresha Webb), starts to suspect she’s innocent after speaking to Grace’s friend Sarah (Phylicia Rashad).

There’s no real way to explain the cliffhanger without spoiling the movie so here we go: It turns out that Shannon is alive, he’s working with Sarah, and together the two of them are kidnapping elderly people, stealing their identity, and stealing their money.  The old people get to go home, but Sarah escapes. In the final shot of the film, Sarah is interviewing to be a caretaker for someone’s rich, elderly mother, implying that she is gearing up to strike again.

Alright. Seriously. We already clicked on the article! Just tell us: Is there going to be A Fall From Grace sequel or not?

Will there be A Fall From Grace 2? Is the new Tyler Perry Netflix movie getting a sequel?

Look, this is a classic bad news/good news situation. The bad news: I don’t have a definitive answer to this question. I’m sorry! I am not a Netflix producer, and there has not been any official confirmation from either Perry or the streaming service that A Fall From Grace sequel is in the works.

The good news: I asked A Fall From Grace star Bresha Webb about it in an interview, assuming she’d have a little more insight into the situation than I did. Here’s what she said:

Well, we’ll never know, but [Perry] keeps smiling every time people ask for it! [Laughs.] I can only hope that I have the opportunity to do this again with Crystal Fox and, you know, Miss Phylicia Rashad, and Tyler Perry—I mean it was a fun ride. I hope that Mehcad Brooks can be in it too, because is he dead? Did I shoot him? I don’t know! Every time people say, “Is it gonna be a sequel? Is there something?” [Perry] keeps smiling. And, you know, he’s writing scripts with his eyes closed.

So there you have it! It’s not an official “yes,” but it certainly sounds like Perry is thinking about it.

Of course, it likely depends on how well the film does for Netflix. If it’s a big hit, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a sequel coming soon.
