The heat is on for Project Runway’s top 10 designers. As Season 17 fast approaches the halfway point, the competition’s only getting tougher for the best of the best. Even the tiniest of mistakes can send you packing, and designers can’t always count on past performance to save them.
That’s definitely the case for the stylish Bishme Cromartie in this week’s ep. As you can see in the exclusive clip above, Cromartie’s having a rough time with this week’s challenge. In this work room moment, Cromartie admits that what was supposed to be his elegant runway look has gone horribly awry. “There’s like seventeen outfits in one,” he says, before practically throwing his hands up and admitting total defeat.
Also worth noting to all the Project Runway super fans out there: Bishme says he’s “gonna have to make it work,” which I think may be the first time that iconic line has been said this season!
This is kind of a stunning development for Cromartie, since he just slayed the streetwear challenge a little while ago. But high elegance is a different aesthetic from casual cool, something Cromartie learns. Will he, in fact, make it work? Or will one of the season’s most promising designers get sent home?!
Project Runway airs tonight on Bravo at 8 p.m. ET.
