Pixar's Academy Award-winning feature brought Mexico's Day of the Dead to the masses via a heartfelt family fantasy film. Incredibles 2
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 94%
The first family of Disney superheroes are back in action after a long, long time away. This animated adventure was well worth the wait, as Incredibles II rises the bar even higher for feature film action sequences. This time around it's Elasti-Girl's turn to take the lead while Mr. Incredible stays at home, but you just know the entire family's gonna have to band together and save the day.

Thor: Ragnarok
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 92%
Director Taika Waititi injected the most Shakespearean corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a whole lotta manic, technicolor, '80s movie pizzazz in this genre-pushing superhero movie. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) team up and form an unlikely squad of misfits on their quest to bust free from a gladiatorial prison and make it back to Asgard in time to save it from the evil Hela (Cate Blanchett).

Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 91%
The Star Wars sage took a step forward with this entry in the saga, a white-knuckle thrill ride from writer/director Rian Johnson. The franchise moves faster than lightspeed in this one, as the survivors of the Resistance struggle to flee from the vindictive might of the First Order while Jedi-in-training Rey (Daisy Ridley) faces hard truths about who she was, who she is, and who she will be.

Bolt
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 89%
John Travolta provides the voice for Bolt, a TV star dog that thinks he has literal superpowers just because the special effects crews on-set work hard to make it seem like he does. When his BFF Penny (Miley Cyrus) gets kidnapped, Bolt sets out to prove he's no ordinary dog by crossing the country to save Penny's life.

Ant-Man and the Wasp
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 88%
The follow-up to 2015's delightful superhero comedy, Ant-Man and the Wasp promotes Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) to the Wasp. That's double the heroes in a film that has double the laughs. It's fitting that the Marvel movie about size-changing heroes has small stakes and big guffaws.

Tarzan
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 88%
Edgar Rice Burroughs' 1912 novel got the Disney makeover in 1999, with Scandal's Tony Goldwyn voicing the titular man of the apes and Minnie Driver joining in on the action as Jane. This movie, packed with original songs by Phil Collins, features a blend of traditional and CG animation that pushed the boundaries of what a Disney movie looked like.

LILO & STITCH, Lilo, Stitch, 2002 (c) Walt Disney/courtesy Everett Collection.
Lilo & Stich
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 86%
This story of a girl named Lilo and her alien best friend Stitch gave Disney one of its most surprisingly iconic characters ever. Not only did Stitch win over the hearts of audiences in this hit 2002 film, he continued to do so in a whole bunch of sequels (also on Netflix) and a TV series. This little blue creature is one of the most recognizable characters in the Disney canon, which is quite a feat for a character who debuted in the 21st century. Kick off a Stitchathon with the acclaimed film that started it all.

Mulan
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 86%
The legend of Hua Mulan came to (animated) life in this beloved 1998 feature featuring the voices of Ming-Na Wen (Mulan) and Eddie Murphy (Mushu). In it, Fa Mulan poses as a man in order to enlist with the army and fight off a Hun invasion. Disney is currently planning a live-action adaptation for 2020, but you can relive all the animated action right now on Netflix (at least until it goes to Disney+).

Avengers: Infinity War
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 85%
Part one of the two-part culmination of a decade's worth of superhero movies, Avengers: Infinity War operated on a scale previously impossible in motion picture history. But even with a cast of dozens and dozens, this filler-free super-thriller is a straightforward romp that delivers just as many tears as jokes. Watch as the heroes of Earth (and beyond) band together to stare down the might of Thanos, a mad tyrant determined to gain omnipotence and remake the universe as he sees fit.

THE EMPEROR’S NEW GROOVE, Kuzco Llama, Pacha, 2000, (c)Buena Vista Pictures/courtesy Everett Collect
The Emperor's New Groove
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 85%
This raucous animated comedy features the voices of David Spade as self-absorbed Incan emperor-turned-llama Kuzco and John Goodman as Pacaha, a village leader who takes it upon himself to help with Kuzco's image rehabilitation. It's really icon Eartha Kitt who steals the movie, chewing scenery as the dastardly Yzma. For a follow-up, you can also stream the 2005 direct-to-video sequel Kronk's New Groove on Netflix (for now).

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2, l-r: Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Rocket
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 84%
This follow-up to 2014's surprise blockbuster about a ragtag group of reluctant do-gooders is bigger, bolder, and bawdier. Cosmic man-child Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) finally finds his alien dad (Kurt Russell), but this family reunion isn't exactly what he hoped it would be. Every single father reveal on Maury Povich goes down better than this one, mainly because none of those threatened to destroy the galaxy.

HERCULES, from left: Hades, Hercules, 1997, ©Walt Disney Pictures/courtesy Everett Collection
Hercules
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 83%
Disney shined a spotlight on Greek myth in 1997 with Hercules, making it one of the more unlikely entries in Disney's fairytale-filled canon at the time. Tate Donovan (you know, Rachel's boyfriend Joshua from Friends) voices Hercules who battles Hades (James Woods). And Danny DeVito shines in the role of Phil, Tarzan's grouchy half-human, half-goat trainer.

The Pirate Fairy
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 81%
This surprisingly star-studded direct-to-video original (Mae Whitman, Christina Hendricks, Tom Hiddleston, Lucy Liu, Raven-Symone) is set in the world of Peter Pan and focuses on Tinker Bell and newcomer Zarina. Hendricks provides the voice for Zarina, a pixie dust-keeper fairy who gets a little too into the power of pixie dust and uses it to become the captain of her own pirate crew (which includes a young Captain hook, voiced by Hiddleston).

MIRACLE, Kurt Russell, 2004, (c) Buena Vista/courtesy Everett Collection
Miracle
Rotten Tomatoes Score: 80%
Disney star Kurt Russell (he was like the Zac Efron of the '70s, you know) came back to the Mouse House for this 2004 sports drama about the true story of the United States ice hockey team that defied the odds by beating the Soviet Union and winning the gold at the 1980 Olympics. This is one of the most acclaimed sports movies ever, and it's low-key a great Thanksgiving film.
