Chrishell Hartley on Whether ‘Selling Sunset’ Will Return: “It Looks Like It’s Going Really Well”

Netflix’s Selling Sunset has yet to be officially renewed for Season 2, but star Chrishell Hartley is keeping hope alive that the reality show will continue for another season. On Wednesday, This Is Us star Justin Hartley stopped by The View, and his wife was there to support him from the front row. At one point during his interview, the panel turned to Hartley to ask about Selling Sunset, the real estate reality show that has captivated the nation (and apparently Meghan McCain, as well). While Hartley wasn’t 100 percent certain about the future of the show, she did say that “it’s going really well,” and she urged viewers to keep watching so that Netflix has reason to bring back Selling Sunset‘s Oppenheim Group for another go-round.

After letting the actor promote his new movie LittleThe View gave Justin Hartley’s wife a chance to discuss an issue keeping reality TV fans up at night: the fate of Selling Sunset. Co-host McCain said that she’s “a big fan” of the reality star, and she was eager to know about Netflix’s plans for the show. “Are you still at the Oppenheim Group, and is there going to be a Season 2?” asked McCain. Hartley responded from the audience, saying, “I am still there. Everyone watch, because we’re still waiting to hear from Netflix if we get the go on Season 2. But it looks like — it looks like it’s going really well.” For once, I’m in agreement with Meghan McCain, because I also desperately need more episodes of Selling Sunset. Fingers crossed, people!

The View‘s panel went on to discuss Chrishell Hartley’s homelessness, an experience she’s open about in Selling Sunset. “Your storyline about overcoming homelessness is really inspiring, and those girls at the Oppenheim Group need to be nicer to you,” said McCain. Hartley explained that she was homeless “a few times throughout the course of [her] childhood,” often “for long stints of time.” The Selling Sunset added that her husband is “the most supportive person” and has helped her to speak out about her experience. “It’s not an easy story to tell — now it’s out there,” said Hartley. “It’s something that [Justin] has always been there for me throughout the entire process, and he encouraged me to tell my story. Because now I feel like I can use it to help other people.”

Justin and Chrishell Hartley’s appearance on The View is available to stream on YouTube. The discussion of Selling Sunset begins at the 28:00 mark.
