There’s more Killing Eve on the way, and I’m not just talking about Season 2. Just a day after the Season 2 premiere, BBC America revealed during an AMC Networks summit that the critically acclaimed series will return for Season 3.

With Season 2 having just started, there’s no real news about what will go down in the thriller in Season 3. Entertainment Networks president Sarah Barnett said of the Season 3 renewal, “We’re very excited to get working on it.” Entertainment Networks includes AMC, IFC, and BBC America, where Killing Eve airs.

During the panel, Jodie Comer (who plays breakout assassin character Villanelle) had this to say about playing a funny serial killer: “I remember when I read the first script I was laughing out loud and I was like wow I can’t remember the last time this happened.” She also said she “felt a lot of freedom.” when it came to Killing Eve’s comedic moments. “What I love about the comedy moments is that it kind of lulls the audience into this false sense of security and then just when they’re lulled.”

Sandra Oh, who won a Golden Globe for her role as MI5 officer Eve, talked about how television has grown over the decades, especially in regards to how women are portrayed. “I feel like the quality of television absolutely surpasses film. And the way audiences interact with television is absolutely changing.”

We do know one thing about Season 3: there will be a new showrunner. Suzanne Heathcote will run Season 3, picking up the torch from Season 2 showrunner Emerald Fennell, who took over from original creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
