Is Tobias Menzies Coming Back to ‘Game of Thrones’?

Basically every actor in the United Kingdom has appeared at least once on HBO’s hit Game of Thrones, and Tobias Menzies is no exception. The Outlander alum, Terror star, and soon-to-be new Prince Phillip first popped up in the third season and was last seen in Season 6. Watchers on the Wall has some evidence that Menzies might return to Game of Thrones for the final season this spring, for one last hurrah.

In case you can’t remember, Menzies played Edmure Tully, Catelyn Stark’s callow younger brother on Game of Thrones. He was the one married at the infamous Red Wedding, and later Jaime Lannister convinced him to help the Lannisters take Riverrun in exchange for some semblance of peace and freedom. That said, we haven’t seen Edmure Tully since the taking of Riverrun, and we don’t exactly know what he’s been up to. What was his reaction to learning that Arya Stark massacred the Freys? Was he holed up in Casterly Rock with his pretty Frey wife and infant son when Dany’s troops took over? Is he hanging out with Grey Worm?

Watchers on the Wall reported last week that the program details for the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere have been found on HBO’s site and if the cast listed is accurate, Menzies is due to return, along with Gemma Whelan, Carice van Houten, and some other faces we haven’t seen in a while. The fan site cautions that this information hasn’t always panned out to be accurate, but it looks on the money this time around. If so, we might finally get to see Edmure try to shoot an arrow at a White Walker…and fail.

Game of Thrones Season 8 premieres on HBO on April 14.
