Clear out your schedule and a space on the couch because a new season of Grace and Frankie is dropping on Netflix! Since the show’s launch way back in 2015, Grace and Frankie has become a reliable source of laughs and comfort. Who wouldn’t want to spend a few hours with living legends like Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin? A new season of Grace and Frankie is something to look forward to every year!

But that’s the problem, isn’t it? New episodes only come out once a year, and all of us G&F superfans watch all 13 episodes in a weekend. And then another 51 weeks pass, weeks filled with other whole-season binges of other shows! It’s been so long since we last watched Grace and Frankie, it can be a little hard to remember what happened in Season 4. With the new season’s arrival imminent, here’s a quick recap of what happened to our heroes the last time we binged them.

What happened in Grace and Frankie Season 4?

Season 4 saw Grace and Frankie struggling with their age–and I mean really struggling with their age. Grace finally caved in and used a motorized scooter for the first time, as one of her knees kept giving out. Grace also spent the season dating a younger man named Nick (Peter Gallagher), which just made her feel even older. And Frankie got so turned around while driving that she ended up in Mexico–oh, did I forget to mention that her newborn grandchild was in the car with her?

Robert and Sol went through their fair share of problems too as their mutual interests became less mutual. Robert got heavily involved with local theater and Sol wanted to stay active with political protests. They saw a marriage counselor who suggested they try something new, like an open relationship. Enter Roy, a highly sexual hunk with the hots for Sol.

All of Grace and Frankie’s troubles reached troubling heights when their bathtub crashed through the ceiling and the contractor that Grace hired turned out to be a total swindler. He stole all their pipes!

How did Grace and Frankie Season 4 end?

After all the drama with the busted knee and a misadventure in Mexico, Grace and Frankie’s kids tricked them into checking into an assisted living facility. The trick: each set of children told their mother they were at the facility to secretly take care of their best friend. That led to a big misunderstanding at the facility when Grace learned she couldn’t operate a business out of her room and Frankie’s art time got micromanaged. After realizing their kids deceived them, they decided enough was enough and busted out!

Unfortunately, Grace and Frankie don’t have a home to go back to. They returned to their ransacked beach house only to discover a “sold” sign out front. The season ended with the two of them holding hands outside of a house that’s no longer theirs.

What’s up with the Grace and Frankie Season 5 trailer?

You can watch it right here!

There are a lot of questions that we’ve got going into Season 5. What will happen to Grace’s company Say Grace now that her daughter Brianna is in charge? Will Sol and Robert hit it off with Roy? Oh yeah–and where will Grace and Frankie live?! Thankfully we don’t have to wait much longer for those answers!

Grace and Frankie Season 5 hits Netflix on January 18.
