Meghan Markle Got Practice-Married on ‘Suits,’ a Month Before the Real Thing

We are less than one month away from the May 19th royal marriage between Prince Harry and his betrothed, American actress Meghan Markle. But before she walks down the aisle for real, Markle got to take a kind of dry run at the altar while filming the final episode of her American TV series.

Now, as everybody knows, Markle has spent seven seasons as the star of the beloved USA television series Suits, a show about people who make suits. Markle’s character, Rachel Zane, worked her way up from a paralegal, and then found the love of her life in a character named Suits, played by Patrick J. Adams. This week, Rachel and Suits got married, at long last, as Markle bid adieu to the show that made her the biggest TV star in the business.

From the looks of the very sweet social-media post USA put out to celebrate the on-screen nuptials, the Suits-Rachel wedding was classy and well-attended. Other Suits was there, smiling at his friends’ good fortune in finding happiness. John Legend was crooning on the soundtrack. There were soft, cinematic lights everywhere. But that won’t be ANYTHING compared to the royal wedding. So this was like a cute practice wedding for Markle. Get the jitters out.

The episode marks that last Suits outing for both Markle and Adams, whose characters — again, named Rachel and Suits — are moving to Seattle to start a new lawfirm together. Which, when you think about it, is a pretty nice little metaphor for getting married. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be moving to Seattle to start a new lawfirm together on May 19th, simulcast for the colonies on BBC America.
