There is nothing quite like the simple pleasure of cooling off on a hot day in a swimming pool, and when it comes to cinema, there is nothing quite like being all hot and bothered watching our screen sirens get all slippery when wet! Sure, we all enjoy a good ole bedroom romp in our movie watching, but there’s just something even sexier about seeing an actor skimped out in aquatic attire (or nothing at all) and lapping it up at the pool. Such hotness isn’t limited to the water itself, as it can be found anywhere a bikini or Speedo is employed and sported poolside.
We’ve already explored the rise of hot 1980s bodacious bodies by the pools, and the ones that followed in the nasty 90s, and now it’s time to drop the towel and jump back in for some naughty aughties pool parties – aka the ’00s! (or whatever you call them)

To heck with the pool, it may be the hottest film EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once you take a dip, you will never get forget the sights of Ludivine Sagnier and Charlotte Rampling‘s hot & wet bodies boding well in the Côte d’Azur sun. My lord mon ami, you’ll need to take 5 showers just to calm yourself down and cleanse yourself of what transgressed around the titular pool!
'Love Don't Cost A Thing' (2003)
How does Nick Cannon go from pool boy to cool boy in the remake of Can’t Buy Me Love?? Sleep-walk on (pool) water in an attempt to reach the out-of-reach Christina Milian, belly flop back to reality, and through a happy (car) accident, bribe your way from totally geek to totally chic.
'The Girl Next Door' (2004)
Man, life is tough for poor, dorky Emile Hirsch. He got into Georgetown, but cannot afford it, but his fortunes in life and love all change when a former porn star (Elisha Cuthbert) moves to town and becomes The Girl Next Door! And everyone’s moviegoing life changed when they saw Cuthbert jump into the principal’s pool, and into our hearts. Forget about giving her a towel, we need it for ourselves to dry off. Cuthbert? More like CuthBEST!!
'Alpha Dog' (2006)
So much tragedy abound in 2006’s Alpha Dog, based on the true story of the kidnapping and murder of Nicholas Markowitz. Nicholas was fictionalized in the movie and played onscreen by Anton Yelchin, who would later face his own only untimely death. Anton and his work will forever be with us in cinematic form, and one scene to truly remember him by is as the meat between the wet Amanda Seyfried and Amber Heard sandwich. [insert taking a bit of a sandwich noise here]
'Scoop' (2006)

The 79th Academy Awards got it all wrong. The Best Original Screenplay shouldn’t have gone to Little Miss Sunshine, it should have gone to Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer for writing this ridiculously crazy-a$$ scene in Date Movie for Sophie Monk, where she turns poolside corn eating and concertina (those mini-accordion looking instruments) playing into the oddest, sexiest JO material this side of Jessica Rabbit!
