Sarah Silverman can do it all. The comedian, writer, producer and actress has created and starred in various projects over the years from books to TV shows to movies to stand-up specials. But starting tomorrow, she begins her toughest challenge yet: bringing together a divided country. For the effort alone, Sarah Silverman is this week’s Woman Crush Wednesday.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Sarah Silverman

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: She’s made us laugh until we pee a little bit (or a lot), she’s been a champion for important causes, and now she’s going to save us all. Well, hopefully. Tomorrow, I Love You, America begins on Hulu, Sarah’s new show which will get up close and personal with Americans, and if all goes according to plan, will highlight just how much we actually do agree on many things in this country — and all with a healthy dose of comedy, and Sarah’s signature devilishly sweet smile.

While she’s gotten down and dirty at roasts or absurd in other projects or kept it totally real on Twitter, now she aims to bring hope back into such a disgruntled world. Sarah totally owns the stand-up stage while bringing new depth to her career as a dramatic actress at the same time. She’s a pioneer beyond the comedy world, and her new adventure will dare go places others have never even considered.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Sarah got her start on sketch comedy shows Saturday Night Live and Mr. Show with Bob and David, as well as the acclaimed HBO comedy series The Larry Sanders Show. She’s known for roles in the films There’s Something About Mary, Who’s The Caboose?, The Bachelor, and Heartbreakers. Sarah was really great in School of Rock, and followed that up with Rent, Jeff Garlin’s I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With, and School for Scoundrels.

You might also remember Sarah in Funny People, the highly underrated dysfunctional family comedy Peep World, Take This Waltz, A Million Ways to Die in the West, Ashby, and Punching Henry. But it was 2015’s I Smile Back where she gave one of the best performances of her career. She was a lot of fun as a publicist in Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, as well as a recent run on Masters of Sex, and in 2017 alone has already appeared in high-profile films The Book of Henry and Battle of the Sexes.

This big-time film career happened in between her creating, writing, and starring in The Sarah Silverman Program on Comedy Central from 2007-2010. She’s also provided that recognizable voice to projects such as Crank Yankers, Wreck-It Ralph, The Simpsons, and Bob’s Burgers over the years. Oh, and not to mention the handful of hilarious stand-up specials she’s released, and dozens of appearances on roasts, memorable late night moments, and even a Maroon 5 video. The thing about Sarah is you can’t miss her, and also, you’d never want to.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Sarah’s voice will be back for more animated action in 2018’s Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. But in the meantime, we can’t wait to see what she does tomorrow on her new Hulu show, I Love You, America. If anyone can bring a broken country together, it’s this lady.
