Stars have emerged left and right to condemn Harvey Weinstein in light of his sexual assault and harassment allegations, and Ben Affleck, who had worked with Weinstein on multiple occasions, found himself on the receiving end of some of the heat after he took five days to release a statement. Hours after Affleck posted his statement to Twitter and Facebook, Rose McGowan, who has been a vocal advocate of exposing Weinstein, did not hold back tweeting her own feelings about the apparently hypocritical Affleck. McGowan, who claims she told Affleck about her experience with Weinstein years ago, was seemingly dismayed to find him playing dumb.

While users responded with their own thoughts on the matter, one accused Affleck of more than just silence – they claimed he had groped actress Hilarie Burton on TRL once:

Burton, best known for starring on One Tree Hill, was a 21-year-old host of Total Request Live at the time. While this tweet could have flown under the radar, Burton responded confirming the incident.

Burton then thanked the user for her support and wrote that she was “just a kid”. She followed up with a message praising the women for coming forward and a video that includes an outtake referencing her experience with Affleck.

The clip in question, which you can see below (taken from an MTV News special called TRL Uncensored 2), shows her interview with Affleck and the ensuing discomfort with the encounter. While Affleck nonchalantly laughs it off, Burton later admits she’d “rather have a high-five” than the “tweakage” Affleck subjected her to.
