Oohwee that season 4 premiere of Power last night on Starz! A lot went down, but there is so, so much more to come this season. And how do we know? Well, we got the cast to dish on what it was like to film perhaps the most intense season yet.

“I didn’t have to be as punctual,” Omari Hardiwck confessed, nodding to his new wardrobe which consists of an orange jumpsuit, instead of those perfectly tailored suits he’s so used to strutting around in. He also explained that he didn’t want to know too much about what the other actors were up to, and not just because of FOMO. Hardwick admitted that when it came to his co-star Lela Loren, “We didn’t talk much until the end of the season.” The fact that her character is his ex-girlfriend, who also had him arrested, might have something to do with that.

As Loren explained, “You can’t be chummy and buddy buddy and then go have tension in the scene. You have to keep your space in order for that to play,” with Hardwick describing this season as “more of an isolated year” for himself.

Rotimi Akinosho confessed to doing a little prayer every time his character Dre lived for another page in the script, saying, “In the world of Dre, he could go anytime.” And that dude is playing with fire this season.

The cast members are sure to give a shoutout to showrunner Courtney A. Kemp for the writing this season, with Joseph Sikora, who plays Tommy, saying, “The writing has really been exceptional for season 4. They gave us a lot to work with…because they know we can handle a lot, which is very empowering.”

He’s not wrong: each of the characters will have their own challenges and moments to shine as season 4 of Power unfolds every Sunday night at 9pm ET/PT on Starz.
