An application for a Netflix and Chill Buddy is going viral today. Sounds fun, right?! What single lady or gent wouldn’t want a streaming friend with benefits? The application seems thorough enough: you can check whether you’d like to be full-time or seasonal Netflix and Chill buddies, you know, so you don’t have to fully commit. Preferred spooning is another, very important facet of the gig, and last but certainly not least, what you like to watch on Netflix.

If you’re on the hunt for the Netflix and Chill buddy of your dreams, look no further for what to watch when you’re finally cozied up on the futon, ripe for distraction and getting it on. It’s a mix of flicks that are great, of course, but definitely won’t keep you from getting in the mood with your, erm, very special friend. And who knows? Five years from now you could be telling your wedding guests you met over a less than reputable Twitter application exchange and it was love at first favorite? Without further ado, here are ten movies to get your new friends with benefits adventure started off right, listed from mindless to totally mindless. (Psst: Just remember to wear protection!)
'Adventureland' (2009)
If Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart can fall in love at a theme park, who says you and your Netflix and Chill Bud can’t fall in love on your beat up, smelly futon? Just tell them it has too much character to throw away.
'Varsity Blues' (1999)
Let James Van Der Beek take charge of your evening with this quintessential, perfect for zoning out, football flick that clocks in at just under two hours so you can warm up for some quality “streaming” and still make it in time for the big game at the end.
'Scream' (1996)
You already know how it ends and even if your Netflix and Chill buddy isn’t into horror fare, this Wes Craven classic is more satire than it is scary and all those jumpy parts where Ghost Face takes you by surprise add more fuel to the fire to cuddle up.
'Something Wild' (1986)
This is a bit of a throwback but this screwball comedy has everything: Melanie Griffith kidnapping Jeff Daniels, raunchy hotel sex, robberies, high school reunions, and murder! It’s sure to make you feel frisky and adventurous, so what are you two crazy kids waiting for?
'Blue Crush' (2002)
If Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez cutting through waves doesn’t get you both hot and heavy, we’re simply not sure what will. Sure, there are some romantic elements to this surfer flick, but none that will put too much pressure on your casual… friendship.
'Zoolander' (2001)
Ben Stiller’s fashion comedy is the perfect go-to in just about any occasion, but it’s especially great for putting on when you and your significant streaming other know you’re not going to be watching much. Just make sure you make moves early on because blue steel is pretty irresistable.
'They Came Together' (2014)
Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd came together and so can you and your Netflix and Chill buddy! What? Oh jeez, we meant you could come together to watch the movie. Seriously get your mind out of the gutter and get it streaming already.
'Hot Rod' (2007)
If Andy Samberg on a motorcycle doesn’t get your new special streaming someone in the mood to rev things up, show them to the door right away and find yourself another Netflix and Chill Buddy. Trust us, there are plenty of horny streaming fish in the sea.
'Mean Girls' (2003)
Chances are, you’ve both seen it at least a dozen times and know every line by heart. In that sense, Mean Girls is totally fetch to put on, fool around to, then wrap it up in time for the Mathlete’s competition and Spring Fling.
'Wet Hot American Summer' (2001)
Ah, there’s nothing like the necking at Camp Firewood to really get the party started between you and your streaming honey. Just don’t eat a burger beforehand because your Netflix and Chill Buddy might not like you anymore.
