The Wolf of Wall Street chronicles the true story of financial prodigy Jordan Belfort (portrayed by Dicaprio), a stockbroker who made his fortune off penny stocks before opening his own firm, Stratton Oakmont, and becoming obscenely, sickly wealthy. Where he faltered, however, was when he got greedy and then he became the FBI’s prime target.
Scorsese’s glorious imagining of Terry Winter’s rapt, “fuck”-filled script is a three-hour feast for the eyes and ears, especially when you have a soundtrack that includes The Dead Weather, The Black Keys, and Scorsese’s BFFs, The Rolling Stones. In revisiting the film on streaming, we realized there are some pretty amazing gifinitive moments: some of them hilarious, some of them sexy, and some just plain weird.
